‘Au revoir’ but not goodbye.

Our last dinner aboard “Aurora” was an emotional one to say the least.  As this was our first proper cruise (and certainly James’ first) we were a bit apprehensive.  WE SHOULDN’T HAVE WORRIED!  If we’d stayed in a hotel for ten days it would still have felt like a hotel but this ship, and it’s company, made it feel much more like a home.

Our table waiters Manohar and Santosh, and wine waiter Dolriech, became ‘friends’ very early on in the cruise.  Dolreich’s brother works on “Queen Mary 2” so we’re looking forward to meeting him in early January.

After dinner we met up again for a drink (or two) with pianist Iwan again – this time in Andersons, a very smart bar with a “gentleman’s club” atmosphere. The pics aren’t good but we didn’t take them!

This morning it was a fairly early start for breakfast and then disembarkation.  The allotted time for us to leave and collect our cases was spot on and our very good neighbour Nigel collected us from the terminal and delivered us home by 10:30 am.

A sad sailor to say the least, although we were offered the chance to stay aboard for “Aurora’s” next cruise which left at 4 o’ clock this afternoon for the Baltics.  We were extremely tempted but have some important engagements to keep before Christmas.

The blog for the last ten days has been liberally peppered with superlatives so we won’t go on – save to say the whole thing couldn’t have been better.  And lastly:-
