We docked in Cadiz at 8:00 this morning. It was an easy walk from “Aurora” to the old city…………
…….. which was full of wonderful narrow streets, all as clean as a whistle. The tall buildings have balconies decked with flowers and the general absence of vehicles make the whole place quite charming.
The 18th century Cathedral (El Nueva) has a lovely square in front and the sea behind.
The streets and Squares are washed clean in the mornings, the Christmas decorations are in place and look very strange in the bright sunshine and warm weather.
Spot the tourist!
Some of the streets are lined with orange trees – and a good crop it seems to be this year!
Cadiz is a beautiful little city. Very easy to walk around and extremely clean and tidy. We had a great visit and returned to the ship for some sunbathing and afternoon tea……….
…….. before going to the Sailaway Party at the aft end. Our cruise Director is the one in the suit (!) lower left, leading everyone on all the decks to the music. It’ a good place to find people you’ve met before for a bit of a ‘chin wag’ before dinner.
Party boy! as “Aurora” sails out of Cadiz harbour.
Another brilliant day and we’re now on our way to Lisbon for tomorrow morning.
