ByBox and Serendipity

On arrival in Manchester we first went to collect our deliveries from “ByBox”.  Emma and Nick on nb ‘Marpessa 2’ (bless them) told us about this wonderful invention a while back – and it’s fantastic!

It’s ideal for boaters or anyone travelling a lot.  Just have you’re post or parcels delivered to your chosen ByBox and then, before the agreed time limit, you can collect it by entering your reference number………£2 for upto 5 deliveries.

………. and all your presents are inside!  Couldn’t be easier.

We then had a lovely Italian meal in Villagio in Canal Street.

Our next highlight was, quite by chance, to meet up with Yvonne and Roger (and their son James and partner Katie) on nb ‘Fizzical Attraction’.  We’d walked up to the New Islington marina at the top of the Rochdale 9 flight of locks through Manchester, to check it out (you get the first week visitor mooring free).  We stopped and asked a young couple about directions and they just happened to be James and Kate!  They recognised us and said “You’re from ‘Chance’ aren’t you? and the rest of the evening was history.  We were kindly invited on board ‘Fizzical Attraction’ for a drink and one of those “catch up chats” which boaters so enjoy.  We haven’t seen Yvonne and Roger since Birmingham last year and, sadly, there’s no photo of our evening as we were all so busy talking.  It was great to see you all and thanks for the drink (and shelter from the rain!).  Hope to see you again soon.

Co-incidentally have just seen our first ever 'By Box' outside Sainsbury in Staines - we now need to find the web site that lists their geographical locations - brilliant system
