In the very gusty wind today we set off from Paddington Basin towards Limehouse for this weekend’s St Pancras CC outing – on this occasion we’ll be touring around the Olympic Park and other exciting things.
Heading into Camden it got a bit busy with ‘other’ canal users.
At Camden Locks we joined up with Craig on nb ‘Nimrod’ for the rest of the journey to Limehouse, as he is also taking part in the Olympic Park cruise. Craig is the best loan boater we’ve ever met. He certainly knows how to handle his boat and he did all his fair share of the lock work and much more (and he’s a nice bloke as well!). We had a great day travelling with him.
The day stayed dry, but still very windy, as we made our way past the St Pancras CC marina, with their lovely ‘water tower’ headquarters in the background.
This is an action shot of James trying (unsuccessfully!) to hold ‘Chance’ against the very strong winds. ‘Chance’ ended up across the canal in the end – and who took the photo!
‘Nimrod’ and ‘Chance’ in the last lock before Limehouse Basin after a six hour journey down the Regent’s Canal. We’re now breasted up with about 40 boats in the basin for tonight. We’ll wait until all boats arrive before taking, what should be, an impressive photo.
I'm so excited for you - the Olympic Park cruise should be extra-special now that the park is open to the public - I hope that you get a great welcome - oh, and great weather :-)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the blog post.

Glad to see you're back to your usual round of social engagements (+ a bit of boating). The weekend trip sounds great fun, only a BIT jealous! Will enjoy your next post though.
