HAPPY BIRTHDAY QUEEN MARY 2!

Today we were part of the tenth anniversary of the naming of QM2.  It’s amazing how ‘chance’ makes life so interesting and coincidental.

Last evening we spent time with a lot of ‘new faces’ in our lives. Here we are with a few in the early evening.  By the end of the evening there were so many of us we took over most of the Champagne Bar.

Today James attended another talk by astronaut Dr Tom Jones – another brilliant and thought provoking lecture……………

…………. and a talk by retired Concorde pilot Captain Tim Orchard – also a very entertaining and informative talk.

Here a a few pics of the the inside of the fabulous ship.  Ten years on she’s still the largest, longest, widest, tallest, fastest and grandest ocean liner in the world (quote).

It’s been another great day.  The weather has improved enormously so we’re able to walk about “properly” now.  Tomorrow is our last full day at sea – among so many experiences we’ve had crossing the Atlantic for the first time, it’s been a weird feeling thinking that we have over 11,000 feet of water beneath us!

There’ll be more partying tonight celebrating QM2’s 10th Birthday!
