We had a very relaxing day yesterday – friends from Selsey came up as they had tickets for “We will rock you” donated by Brian May of Queen which had been auctioned at Patrick Moore’s memorial service in our village earlier in the year, and we were lucky enough to be able to join them.
Neil and Phillip with James enjoying the sunny atmosphere of Merchants Square and Paddington Basin with, of course, a glass of wine and some nibbles.
We took a leisurely journey into town in the afternoon to collect the tickets for “We Will Rock You” at the Dominion Theatre. There’s still a great celebratory feeling about the city.
Having got tickets we popped down to Soho for drink in ‘Compton's’ on Old Compton Street.
Then it was Pizza Express for some food where were joined by Stuart and Max (film and TV students at college in London). Stuart is a Selsey lad so when he knew Phillip and Neil were in town he wanted to catch up.
After a nice pizza we all made our way back to ’Compton's’ for a pre show drink.
Sadly, as always, we were not allowed to take photos in the show but here we are tucking into popcorn before settling down to an evening of great Queen music. It was a good show – well presented with great effects.
We said goodbye to Neil and Phillip who had to make the journey back home the same evening, another great day in London!
"We will rock you", what a show!!!! Saw it what must be 8 years ago now, blown away, an awesome musical.
