He always pulled out big fish wherever he sat - so I would complain, change places then still catch nothing whilst he continued to pull out big ones where I had been fishing. Fond memories.<br /><br />Then in 1963 as part of Bristol University Fresh Water Ecology course a friend of mine (now in Germany) and I did a study of the leeches and planaria (flat worms) of the canal around the aqueduct. At the time the canal was closed and stagnant - oxygen levels in the water were very low. I still have my report, photographs and notes somewhere in my archive boxes - again fond memories!
